Ipod Touch Video Format

Nov 1, 2014 at 12:28 PM
I am using Youcast and using Downcast as my podcast software. Anytime I download videos, they will not play as the they are apparently in a format that the Ipod doesn't recognize. I have also used Itunes to handle the podcasts, but when I try to transfer them to my Ipod, I am told they are in an incompatible format. I can convert them in Itunes but it is a pain for multiple feeds. Am I using incorrect settings?

Thanks.

Hey,
I've looked at the specs for ipod and it supports:
MPEG-4 video up to 2.5 Mbps, 640 by 480 pixels, 30 frames per second, Simple Profile with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps per channel, 48kHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats
That means that it can't work with the 720p videos. I suggest trying the 360p quality.

It worked with the 360p. Thanks. Keep up the good work!
